Russian-American visual artist, NFT pioneer, and tech founder — working at the intersection of art, culture, and blockchain
Olive Allen is a New York-based Russian-American artist and one of the earliest adopters of NFTs, releasing digital works since 2019. Her sardonic, culturally critical practice uses pop-culture imagery to comment on hype, the attention economy, and digital identity. She has collaborated with TIME Magazine on their genesis NFT drop and exhibited at König Galerie (Berlin), Postmasters (New York), Nagel Draxler (Cologne), and Art Dubai.
Allen's work operates at the intersection of art, technology, and social commentary. TIME Magazine described her as a new media artist who uses branding, 'drops,' and gamification to offer a critical yet playful view on hype culture and cultural mores.
She has created original character series including HYPEBIRDS, UnBearables, and The Sheeplezzz, and built Mad Toy Junction — her own Metaverse gallery and NFT factory. Her art is sardonic in nature, exploring cultural shifts through deeply personal experience.
Allen purchased her first Bitcoin in 2013 and became one of the earliest voices in the NFT space from 2019 onward. In protest of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, she burned her Russian passport and minted the act as an NFT to raise funds for humanitarian relief.
She collaborated with TIME Magazine on their genesis NFT drop and showed Sheeple Punk at Art Dubai 2022 with König Galerie.
